Job responsibilities

The FBB Network Planning Engineer​ plays a crucial role within the Network Planning & Engineering department by designing, planning, and developing robust IP networks and related systems to support broadband business services. This role requires expertise in NetDevOps and software-defined networks, necessitating the implementation of software engineering and automation principles to address network challenges effectively. As a key member of the department, the FBB Network Planning Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and contributes to network monitoring, policy development, capacity planning, and traffic management. The engineer is also responsible for providing mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring the continuous improvement and optimization of the company's network infrastructure.

• Design, implement, and optimize multi-vendor, multi-protocol IP core, metro, and edge broadband fixed networks to support the company's evolving broadband business services.
• Develop and maintain network monitoring systems, tools, observability, and notification mechanisms to ensure network performance, stability, and security.
• Formulate network policies, capacity plans, and traffic management strategies, aligning with the company's business objectives and network requirements.
• Establish, author, and enforce comprehensive network design documentation, change management processes, and maintenance procedures to ensure network integrity and compliance with industry best practices.
• Create detailed design specifications for method operation procedures (MOP) for the operations team to configure routers, switches, BNG, firewalls, OLT, ONU/ONT, and WiFi systems in an ISP environment. Develop automated configuration designs and solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing support to production engineers in troubleshooting network issues and resolving service incidents.
• Collaborate and provide technical support to other departments in IP network engineering, ensuring seamless interdepartmental communication and project execution.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth within the team.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in network planning and implementation, particularly in FBB and FWBB networks.
• Experience in working with sales and marketing teams to define network deployment areas.
• Experience in performance monitoring and network optimization would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Fixed Broadband (FBB) and Fixed Wireless Broadband (FWBB) networks.
• Experience in network planning and implementation.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in performance monitoring and network optimization.
