What is Smart Wi-Fi Calling?

Smart Wi-Fi Calling is a service that enables Smart prepaid and postpaid customers to call and text via a Wi-Fi connection.

Is it applicable for postpaid?

Yes, it’s available for both postpaid and prepaid.

Will a service subscription fee be charged?

Smart Wi-Fi calling is a free service, a customer does not pay any service subscription. Standard domestic calling and SMS rates apply on pay per use basis.

What are the charging rates for calls and SMS with Smart Wi-Fi Calling?

The charging rates for calls and SMS are as follows:

  1. Incoming calls and SMS are always free of charge.
  2. Outgoing calls and SMS to Smart are charged at standard rates of your tariff plan: from the available balance whether you have bonus, promotional or main balance available.
  3. Outgoing calls and SMS to other operators in Cambodia are charged at standard rates from your Smart main balance.
  4. International outgoing calls and SMS are charged at standard international rates from your main balance.

Can I use Smart Wi-Fi Calling while roaming?

Yes, you can use Smart Wi-Fi Calling while travelling abroad. Rates for Smart Wi-Fi Calling in roaming abroad are same as if you would be in Cambodia, based on your tariff plan. Basically, while you’re in roaming and using Smart Wi-Fi Calling, you will be charged same rates as if you would be in Cambodia.

If I am in Malaysia using Smart Wi-Fi Calling and want to call to a friend in Malaysia who are using Malaysian mobile operator, what is the charging rate?

It will be charged based on international calling rates from Cambodia to Malaysia. Smart in this case will consider you’re placing a call from Cambodia to Malaysia.

If I am in Malaysia using Smart Wi-Fi Calling and want to call to a friend in Singapore who are using Singaporean mobile operator, what is the charging rate?

It will be charged based on international calling rates from Cambodia to Singapore. Smart in this case will consider you’re placing a call from Cambodia to Singapore.

If I am in Malaysia using Smart Wi-Fi Calling and want to call to a friend in Vietnam who are also using Smart Wi-Fi Calling, what is the charging rate?

It will be charged based on domestic Cambodian rates. Smart in this case will consider you’re placing a call from Cambodia to Cambodia, on Smart network.

How to get this service?

You need to have a device supporting Smart Wi-Fi Calling and a 4G SIM. For list of devices supporting Smart Wi-Fi Calling please go to Q9.

If I have no mobile coverage, can I still call with Smart Wi-Fi Calling service?

Yes, you can, by connecting to a stable Wi-Fi nearby.

Can I still use it if I remove my SIM card from my phone?

No. Smart Wi-Fi Calling requires a Smart 4G SIM card.

If I’m using Smart Wi-Fi Calling, but my friend is connected to a regular mobile network. Can we still connect and talk?

Absolutely.

How can I know that Smart Wi-Fi Calling is active?
