Terms & Conditions
- You can only register and update your profile via the SIMReg website or SmartNas once.
- Smart reserves the right to temporarily block your number if there is a legitimate complaint regarding the ownership of the phone number you have registered.
- If your number is blocked for this reason, you can contact our call center or visit any Smart Shop to resolve the issue.
- If the issue is not resolved within 14 days of the number being blocked, Smart reserves the right to reassign the number.
- Should Smart find that an individual has committed any criminal wrongdoing, we will refer the matter to the relevant authorities.
How soon should I register/update my profile after buying a SIM card?
You will need to register immediately.
What do I need to bring with me when I visit a Smart Shop to register my SIM?
You need to bring the required documents, outlined below, along with your phone number to update your profile.
The required documents include:
- Cambodian nationals: Cambodian ID or passport
- Foreign nationals: passport only
- Monk ID or Government agency ID can be used but it must contain the following:
- A photo
- First name
- Last name
- Unique ID Number
In the case of Government agency ID, it must also contain the Ministry name and Ministry stamp.
Will I be charged to register/update my profile?
What is the process to confirm that I am the rightful owner of the SIM card?
Verification (“CDR Test”) of your call history will be performed at the Smart Shop.
You will also need to sign a declaration form confirming that you are the rightful owner of the number and will be responsible for any misuse.
Will I receive any benefits from registering my SIM?
There are no bonuses or benefits per se for registering your SIM card, but it’s a government directive for everyone within Cambodia to have a registered SIM profile.
How long will it take for my profile to be updated to my number?
Your profile will be updated within three working days of the request being submitted.
What if the old owner of my number has already lost contact with me? Is there any way I can update the profile to include my details?
Yes, you can. Please visit your nearest Smart Shop with your phone number and ID. A verification of your call details will be performed. You will also need to sign a Declaration Letter.
I don’t know who the person in the profile is, but it is my phone number. Can I update the profile to include my name?

If a profile exists but is incorrect or incomplete, please go to your nearest Smart Shop.
What should I do if the province I live in has no Smart Shop in which to register?

No, it’s FREE of charge.

Who can register their SIM profile using simreg.smart.com.kh?
Currently simreg.smart.com.kh is only available for Smart Prepaid subscribers who have no existing profile. If you are a Smart Prepaid subscriber needing to update your profile, you will need to visit your nearest Smart Shop with your ID and phone number.
Can a Smart Postpaid subscriber register through simreg.smart.com.kh?
If you are a Smart Postpaid subscriber who wants to register/update your profile, please visit your nearest Smart Shop.
Can I register an incomplete/wrong profile through simreg.smart.com.kh?
No, you will need to visit your nearest Smart Shop with your ID and phone number.
How long does it take to know if my profile registered through simreg.smart.com.kh has been successful?
It will take three working days after registration has been submitted.
Can I check my profile after registering through simreg.smart.com.kh by dialing *1202#?
Yes, however you can only do this after receiving an SMS notification from Smart informing you that your registration was successful.
What if I receive an SMS notification saying “unsuccessful registration”?
You will need to go your nearest Smart Shop with your ID and phone number.
What are the reasons for unsuccessful registrations through simreg.smart.com.kh?
There are three reasons for unsuccessful registration through simreg.smart.com.kh:
- Document is not legible (e.g. name registered and name on ID Card is different)
- Document is not clear (e.g. face on ID card is unclear)
- Document is invalid (e.g. driver’s license)
Can I register my profile through simreg.smart.com.kh using Khmer language?
No. Only English can be used to key-in your profile. However, you can change the display language.
I’m using a feature phone, how do I register through simreg.smart.com.kh?
You can register by using a computer or by going to your nearest Smart Shop with your ID and phone number.
Can I use my student card, driving license or birth certificate to register?
Sorry, you are not able to use the above mentioned documents to register.
Only Cambodian IDs and passports are valid registration documents. Monk IDs and government IDs are also acceptable as long as they have a photo, first name, last name, and unique ID Number. In the case of Government agency IDs, they must also have the Ministry name and Ministry stamp.
I am a Smart Postpaid customer. Can I register?
If you are an individual Smart Postpaid customer, please check if you have a profile by dialing *1202#.
If you have no profile, please go to your nearest Smart Shop. You will need to do a CDR test, submit the required documents (same as Smart Prepaid customers), sign a Declaration Letter and then pass all this to the Postpaid Back Office.

If I don’t have any accepted documents, can I use someone else’s documents to register?
No, you cannot use another person’s documents to register a number belonging to you.
If I don’t know any CDR calls on my phone, but I have a physical SIM in my hand. Can I ask for registration?
Yes, you can. But you will need to bring the active SIM card and your ID card with you when you come in-store for registration. You will also need to sign a declaration letter.
Does this registration apply to all number categories which have no data profile?
No, this registration is only valid for silver category and below.
