What if a simple gift could tell a story - not just any story, but one that carries the richness of Cambodian culture, the artistry of local artisans, and the pride of a community coming together? That’s the vision behind KHMÉRIS, a curated collection of Khmer souvenirs and innovative products founded by Tim Den (Din) (Co-founder & CEO), Norng Rithy (Co-founder & Sales Manager), and Sakhorn Ratana (CMO). Their mission is simple yet powerful: make Cambodian products desirable, premium, and accessible - while uplifting the people who create them.
Din’s journey to KHMÉRIS wasn’t straightforward. After studying agricultural economics and running his own natural vegetable shop, he experimented with multiple projects, gaining firsthand insight into business. “I realized that Cambodian products are high quality, but often undervalued,” he says. “One product on its own may feel pricey, but when grouped with other items in a beautifully designed gift box, it suddenly makes sense and feels more valuable.”
That insight became the foundation for KHMÉRIS. Rather than simply selling individual items, the team curate local products into premium gift boxes -from handmade snacks to silk scarves and jewellery - combining craftsmanship with thoughtful packaging and storytelling. Each box is designed to deliver a meaningful, culturally rich experience for locals, tourists, and corporate clients alike.
KHMÉRIS also plays a key role in empowering local producers, small businesses, and ethnic minority communities. By working directly with artisans, the team ensures fair income and consistent quality while creating new opportunities for those who might otherwise struggle to access markets. Din shares, “Many of the artisans we work with are women who can’t travel far from home due to family responsibilities and limited transportation. Even so, they continue to weave beautiful krama, and KHMÉRIS helps bring their work straight to customers who genuinely value it.”
In its early months, KHMÉRIS gained recognition from government institutions, ministries, local businesses, and international clients who purchasedgift boxes for official or corporate events. These early successes validated the startup’s approach and highlighted the potential of well-presented local products.
For the KHMÉRIS team, every box is a bridge between culture and commerce. They help producers strengthen branding, improve packaging, and maintain quality - making it easier for Khmer goods to compete on a global stage. Behind every curated box is a bigger vision: elevate Cambodian products and empower the communities that bring them to life.
Looking ahead, KHMÉRIS aims to grow sustainably, serve more events, expand internationally, and continue opening pathways for Cambodian artisans. “I want local products to be appreciated, not overlooked,” Din says. “Every box we send is a small step toward giving Cambodian products the recognition they deserve.”
KHMÉRIS shows that with creativity, care, and persistence, a simple gift can become an unforgettable experience - and a powerful way to create real impact in local communities.
