The Senior Investigator plays a crucial role within the Audit Department of the telecom industry, reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit. This role primarily involves conducting investigations into various aspects of the organization's operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Additionally, the Senior Investigator provides support to the internal audit function during periods without active investigation cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigative Duties:
- Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of fraud, misconduct, policy violations, or other irregularities within the telecom company.
- Gather and analyze evidence through interviews, document reviews, data analysis, and other investigative techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive investigation reports detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with legal counsel, HR, and other departments as necessary during investigations.
- Other ad hoc tasks assigned by the Head of Internal Audit and/ or BAC.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards during investigations.
- Assess risks associated with identified issues and recommend controls to mitigate future occurrences.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to investigative techniques and fraud prevention.
- Support to Internal Audit:
- Assist the internal audit team in planning and executing audit engagements when not actively involved in investigations.
- Conduct audit fieldwork, perform testing, and evaluate internal controls to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participate in audit reporting and follow-up activities to monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation related to investigations and audit activities.
- Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations for senior management and audit committees.
- Track investigation outcomes and audit findings to measure impact and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Training and Development:
- Provide guidance and training to junior investigators and audit staff on investigative techniques, fraud detection, and internal control concepts.
- Foster a culture of integrity and compliance within the organization through educational sessions and awareness programs.
