Cambodia’s leading mobile telecommunications operator Smart Axiata is encouraging Cambodians to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering additional free data to customers every time they e-top up.

Any Smart customer topping up their mobile phone balance by at least 1.25 USD via the SmartNas app, Smart website or Smart’s Zero Balance Portal will receive 1GB of data for free, which will be added to their allowance regardless of the plan they are on and any data bonuses they already have.

SmartNas, the app that gives Smart customers full visibility of their usage, greater control over their account and the ability to easily change plans and subscribe to services, is the top-rated telco self-care app in Cambodia with hundreds of thousands of monthly users. It can be downloaded for free at http://smarturl.it/SmartNas?IQid=facebook.

The e-top up options available are easy, convenient and help people to keep their communications active as needed, even during these difficult times. All customers need to do is choose their payment option (Pi Pay, AliPay, ABA PAY or credit/debit card) and choose a top up amount greater than 1.25 USD to automatically receive the free data. The offer runs from now until May 31.

“Digital literacy and ability in Cambodia are quite high, and the latest community outbreak of coronavirus in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville clearly demonstrates that easier and more convenient top up solutions – through online channels – will remain popular and important. To play our part, we want to ensure our customers use these e-top up options to minimize their contact with cash and scratch cards, so we are offering 1GB of free data on top of the data allowances we already offer,” said Mila Jivkova Kusheva, Smart Axiata’s Chief Marketing Officer.

One service growing in relevance during this time of social distancing is Smart @Home, the simple, plug-and-play home Wi-Fi service from Smart. To support customers in the city of Phnom Penh and Kandal province, which have been greatly affected by the pandemic, Smart is offering free delivery (up to 5 USD) of Smart @Home if ordered via Nham24 between March 3 and 15.

“Many people are either in lockdown or working or studying from home, playing their part in ensuring that there is less movement and interaction. We at Smart want to provide the most convenient and safest options to help them stay connected with their family and work,” Mila added.

Smart @Home allows customers all the benefits of home Wi-Fi without the expense and inconvenience of installing Internet lines in their home. Smart @Home uses mobile SIM cards to distribute broadband-speed connectivity throughout homes.
