Smart Axiata, Cambodia’s leading mobile telecommunications operator, has expanded its 4G network coverage across Cambodia’s provinces with more than 300 new base station sites deployed during the first half of 2021 as part of its over 90 million USD infrastructure investment plan for 2021.

Through these 300 new sites, Smart’s 4G LTE network coverage and experience has been considerably enhanced in nine provinces. Amongst the 300 new sites are 78 new base stations that were built and launched in Siem Reap province, 37 new sites in Kampong Cham, 39 in Battambang, 24 in Banteay Meanchey, 17 in Kampong Speu, 33 in Tboung Khmum, 25 in Prey Veng, 24 in Kampong Thom, 23 in Svay Rieng and 9 in Kratie.

As part of Smart’s effort to enable mass 4G adoption, all remaining 3G SIM card users amonst the existing customers can trade in their 3G SIM cards for a brand-new 4G SIM card completely free of charge at any Smart Shop or Smart Dealer. Customers can also enjoy special offers on 4G smartphones, saving as much as 270 USD, as part of the phone upgrade program. To take part in the phone upgrade program, customers just need to simply bring their phones to a Smart Shop and exchange their device by choosing from a range of great 4G smartphones.

In the provinces where Smart has particularly expanded its 4G network – Kampong Cham, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Speu, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng, Kampong Thom, Svay Rieng and Kratie – Smart customers can also enjoy 1GB of free data valid for 1 month and 900 USD worth of on-net bonus valid for 3 months, which they can redeem in the SmartNas app until July 31.

New customers who would like to enjoy the expanded Smart network can get a 50% discount on special Smart numbers worth up to 54 USD at any Smart Shop or Smart Dealer across the Kingdom until the same date.
