Corporate Communications Specialist

Job responsibilities

Responsible for developing and coordinating internal as well as external communications within the company in alignment with overall Smart corporate goals and vision.

  • Support development of external (press releases, speeches, corporate briefs etc.) and internal (newsletters, company-wide announcements, corporate video etc.) communication collaterals.
  • Build relationships (offline and online) with press, media, agencies and PR consultants.
  • Respond to public media inquiries, in consultation with CEO and company spokespersons.
  • Assist organization and coordination of press conferences, events and product launches; this includes (but not limited to) agenda, calling the press, event management and emceeing.
  • Assist in implementing internal communication strategies in line with improving cross-collaboration and internal staff awareness on Smart strategy, products and initiatives.
  • Monitor traditional as well as digital media about Smart and also key competitors’ PR activities.
  • Support management of the social impact Facebook page, corporate sections in the official website and the internal communication platform; this includes developing Smart’s social impact and nation building campaigns.
  • Participate and assist in CSR & Sustainability-related projects and initiatives, as well as other relevant events, as and when required by the HOD and/or CEO.
  • Support any other ad hoc projects driven internally or by Axiata Group.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Media and Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences and International Relations or related fields.
  • At least 2 years working experience in PR, Journalism and Communication (volunteer and / or corporate). Candidates with digital, social media or other related experiences will have an added advantage.
  • Passionate about creative writing and public relations.
  • Strong work ethics i.e. proactive, confident, positive, integrity, accountable, teamwork.
  • Acceptable administrative knowledge and possess basic Telecommunication knowledge.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Good interpersonal / stakeholder management and verbal/written communication skills i.e. English and Khmer.
